I like this blend okay for brewing, but it's not something I'll buy again. It's a matter of preference, not quality. I think it has too much of a certain flavor which I can't quantify. This is from Unique Coffee Roasters, who make great coffee so it's not a reflection on them. I prefer Columbian Supreme so far of any of theirs I tried. It happens to suit us just right.
This blend has a tiny bit of a bite to it which I don't relish, but it is still okay and better than "plain" ground type coffees.
For us some espresso beans are a bit light and don't have enough punch. Others that are extremely bitter are horrible. We like an in between bean that is very flavorful but NOT a biting bitterness. This brand and this roast are spot on and very enjoyable. Excellent!
I'm not sure how they do it, but Unique Coffee Roasters manages to get delicious coffees every time. This is my second favorite behind Columbian Supremo, but is a close second and still very, very, very good, flavorful yet "mellow" coffee. They do a great job blending coffee beans and selecting/roasting them.
These coffees come in stury reclosable bags that hold in flavor well. My only wish is that they weren't bigger. We like them so much we go through a lot of coffee! (It's very concentrated, we just make it often!).
Unique Coffee Roasters makes the best coffee we've ever tasted. I used to buy it direct from them but couldn't do that anymore, so found it at Roaste. All the flavors we tried would good, but Columbian Supremo is our favorite. It has a gentle kick yet is almost sweet and is better black than any coffee you'd add fancy flavoring to.
I've never found coffee brewed that tastes as good as this, even in restaurents. Excellent!
The flavor of this coffee is very mellow, so when fairly stongly made it is quite good, but we prefer it as brewed coffee rather than espresso coffee. To us it tastes nothing like espresso should taste, though it's certainly OKAY. I had it both as double shot espresso (we mix with frothed milk, not straight) and brewed. I like it, but the espresso beans we're used to are a darker bean with more "punch." Just a matter of taste, I guess.
ONLY FLAW WITH THIS ORDER: I ordered ground and got whole bean. Told Roaste and he asked what they can do to keep my business. Since it wasn't obvious to him, the answer is: offer to send the right order. However to his credit, I decided to keep it as a brew bean I grind myself vs. send it back.
OKAY AND FRESH
