To find great coffee at $8 bucks a pound is the Holy Grail for this caffeine junkie. The thick layer of oil at the top of every brewed pot is proof that they are giving you a great price without pawning off the cheap stuff.

Opening the bag gave a strong smell of oatmeal(?), which was interesting and unexpected. The beans were more dry than oily. The coffee itself was a little lighter than a usual Italian roast. It was full of subtleties and complexities of a tasty coffee, but without the intensity that I was expecting. I was pleased I ordered this coffee to try something different, but I was't sure that I would order it again... until I chilled a pot and had it as iced coffee. It added intensity to the wonderful qualities already in this coffee. I was suprised at how much I liked it. DISCLAIMER: I am not a "cupping" expert. I just drink a lot of coffee.
