  • GREAT COFFEE.

    Jamie | Sun, 07/18/2010 - 09:11

The name Chesapeake Bay Blend has me thinking of a smooth and mellow coffee. At first, this coffee caught me off guard with the dark and oily beans. I read this was a Medium Roast, but this was looking more like a dark roast, and the aroma coming off the beans were starting to back up my assumptions. A darker roast aroma filled the kitchen while brewing in my French Press. The smell was rich, with a dark chocolate note underneath. I was still hesitant about the coffee. When I took my first sip, I noticed a heavier body that the coffee had. A dark chocolate note started dominating the coffee at first, but then a nuttiness started to appear. I was even starting to notice a pepper note that came out of nowhere. This coffee has a good aftertaste. I can still taste this dark chocolate note with a slight smokiness. Overall, this coffee was a little more on the mellow side than the aroma led me on to believe, but it was by no means a bad coffee. Before I knew it my cup was empty, and I was searching for more.

  • WORTH CHECKING OUT

My tongue was struck with a wonderfulness just from the first sip. The first thing I notice is the woody note which is the most well known note in the coffee. Behind that is a nice bitter-sweetness. There is a woody like aftertaste that lingers around for an all around really great coffee.

  • IMPRESSIVE CUP OF COFFEE

    Jamie | Wed, 04/28/2010 - 08:31

The UPS guy barely delivered this to me before I already had this opened and ready to brew a cup. Uupon opening the bag I was greeted with a chocolate goodness and a slight spice in the aroma from the beans. After brewing the coffee the smell of chocolate, notes of caramel and a vanilla sweetness filled my nose. After some more sniffing I got an amaretto note hiding in there. The taste was quite interesting. With notes of chocolate, a balanced boldness, and slight fruity notes the taste was a mix of greatness. There is hardly any bitterness to the coffee at all. The is a slight darkness that lingers on my tongue a little, but overall is balancing to the overall flavor of the coffee. I recommend that everyone try this coffee. This was one really enjoyable coffee.

  • REALLY GREAT COFFEE

    Jamie | Fri, 04/16/2010 - 11:01

From the instant I pulled off the seal from the can I was greeted with an intense aroma that literally infused into my nose for a few minutes. From there I knew this was something special and amazing all together. The aroma really shocked me as I was expecting more of a mellow coffee than what I was greeted with. The aroma is sweet, and fruity, with hints of spice. It has a bright and bold smell, but not a dark bold smell. It’s more of an in your face bright aroma that really hits you. The taste is just as amazing. I get a spice that I noticed in the aroma, which dissipates rather quickly. There is a slight fruitiness to it, with a hint of brightness like lemon. I really liked this coffee. It was one of my favorites from Kickapoo.

  • NOT BAD

    Jamie | Fri, 04/16/2010 - 11:00

The aroma was light and it took me a moment to pick out what I was smelling. I got a sweet and honey like aroma with an earthy background. The taste of the coffee was very bright and sweet with a hint of tangerine. The coffee had a nice smoothness to it and was very clean. The only thing that I didn’t seem to like about the coffee is that it’s very bright. Sometimes a little overpowering. I’ve made a few cups of this and thought maybe it was me that I was brewing it too strong, but I seem to be getting the same results. It’s a good coffee, but it’s a little too much fruity sweetness for me.
