intrepid510 | Tue, 05/22/2012 - 14:48The taste of this coffee was what I expect of a lot of the third wave espresso, it had a nice little chocolate taste in the front and then trailed off into nice orange acidity. One of the great things that I have liked about this espresso is that it has been pretty easy to pull and get a good shot from, which cannot be said of all third wave espresso. I only use one grinder and go back forth between espresso and drip, so I normally end up with a shot or two that are not optimal when going back to espresso, goes a little long or short. This one seemed to handle those inconsistencies well, also nice it didn't require a real high temp as well to get the most out of it. The only real draw back with this blend is that it doesn't have that real thick body that other espresso blends can have, but it didn't really take back anything from the espresso.

intrepid510 | Tue, 05/22/2012 - 14:40I normally don't do much other than allow the first few tastes to roll around on the tounge and really focus in on tasting the coffee. Unfortunately a lot of time in the morning I am more focused just getting to work!

Not with standing the user error part of using bad water and the wrong settings, it's not really the same in my opinion nor do I really think there should be a category for automation. Simply having a certification is sufficient.
