BEST COFFEE FROM MY FIRST BATCH OF ORDERS
iamericstephens | Sat, 10/08/2011 - 08:46I'm new to Roaste.com and recently ordered three coffees to start with. I was mostly disappointed, but this El Salvador Orange Bourbon was the best of the three. I doubt I'll ever buy the other two again, but I'll keep this one in mind after I've done some exploration of other coffees. Definitely worth a taste!
SATISFIED
iamericstephens | Sat, 10/08/2011 - 08:40I'm not as excited about this coffee as I thought I would be, but I'm satisfied. It's not one I think I'll be buying again in the near future, but I think it's just a personal taste issue. I might start avoiding coffees with "floral" in the description. Not bad, but not great.
IT'S GROWING ON ME
iamericstephens | Wed, 10/05/2011 - 07:48I bought this in my first order from Roaste.com. This is the coffee I was most excited about after having read an article in Wine Spectator magazine about Ethiopian coffee. However, this is my least favorite of the three that I ordered. Maybe I'm used to drinking cheaper coffee, but I like a little bite on the front end of my sip. It reminds me I'm alive and wakes me up. It focuses my attention. This coffee is fairly smooth on the front end. So, if you like that, it's great. I'm not always in the mood for a coffee that slips by unnoticed. Then comes the fruit. This is all part of the learning experience for me. I'll probably stay away from coffees with fruity descriptions for a while. The overwhelming flavor is the blueberry, which is not my favorite. When I first made this coffee and tasted the blueberry flavor, I was very disappointed and was almost sad at how much I had paid for these beans. The flavor has somewhat grown on me and I will definitely finish my bag, but I doubt I'll be buying this one again. It's a good coffee, it's just not the right flavor for my taste buds.
