"life is too to settle for mediocre coffee"
I use a French Press and sometimes a Krups Moka Brew. My grinder is a Baratza Virtuoso and I always use filtered water.

HIGHER GROUND MOCHA JAVA IS VERY GOOD
Jazdup | Sun, 12/25/2011 - 20:21Almost everyone has heard the name Mocha Java but how many people have had this coffee. I had it once before from an inferior company and finally re-ordered this again. Higher Ground did a nice job blending the coffee. It is well balanced and has deep rich flavor.. Beans are quite oily. My old grinder would need a cleaning after grinding such an oily bean. All and all I would recommend this is you like a deep rich bold coffee. I have been pleased with other selections from HIgher Ground and have them on my "A" List.
GOOD NOT GREAT
Jazdup | Sat, 12/10/2011 - 20:54The description says deep aftertaste. I only found a subtle aftertaste, which was disappointing as this is the reason why I got this coffee. This is a "somewhat hearty" blend which would attract the person who wants something more than a lighter generic tasting blend. The beans area about as oily as you will ever get. My grinder needs frequent cleanings with a bean so oily. The acid was low, but still present, with a French Press, but gone with a gold filter in a high quality steam pressured/ drip machine. If you do buy it, you may want to also mix these beans up with some other coffee beans to see what new tastes you can create that are to your liking.
CHELSEA BLEND IS VERY GOOD
Jazdup | Sat, 11/05/2011 - 08:48I found that it needed a little more coffee than other coffees to give it a richer body. The end result was a rich full body flavor without any acid. The finish is long.
ORGANIC ESTATE COFFEE BLEND- MEDIOCRE
Jazdup | Sun, 10/30/2011 - 14:24Company Description:" Dark roasted with chocolate and caramel overtones, this satisfyingly exotic brew is smooth, silky, and has a long, long finish." Not really that dark of a roast and exotic it is not. Smooth it is, in fact it is very weak. I had to put more than the typical amount to get any flavor out of it. It has some finish, not a long long finish. The hope of a long long finish was why I bought this. Very fast shipping. The bag reads "dark roasted with heavy body". There is no heavy body here, except the guy drinking the cup!
NICARAGUA JINOTEGA- FINCA LOS PAPALES- TOO MUCH ZEST FOR ME
Jazdup | Mon, 10/17/2011 - 14:41Coffee description from Roaste for this coffee: Sweet dark chocolate introduces the cup with notes of toffee, spice & grapefruit zest that gradually appear during its silky long lasting finish. Above is the description as listed on Roaste and wasn't what I found it to be. I called the roaster to ask if there was any acid. He said no. Unfortunately, there was too much acid for my liking. I guess acid is what they call zest. I asked if there was really a long lingering aftertaste and he said yes. I didn't taste a silky long lasting finish. I didn't find a long finish at all. It was a rich cup though. If you want some acid and a rich cup of coffee that has zest for aftertaste, then perhaps you may enjoy this coffee. They label the date roasted on back of the bag, which is a nice feature that all small roasters should do. Shipping was at lighting speed.
