I'm enjoying the comments and the recipe. Often Mexican foods differ dramatically from one region to another. I wonder if this is in that category, too.

  • ONE WAY TO MAKE IT WITH

    espressom | Thu, 05/26/2011 - 22:37

One way to make it with ingredients in the pantry. I agree with the reviews below, using more authentic Mexican ingredients like piloncillo for sweetness makes it more authentic.

  • YEAH THIS ISN'T MEXICAN

    Mawii | Wed, 09/23/2009 - 23:17

    Yeah this isn't mexican coffee.
Café de olla is made with cinnamon and something called "piloncillo", that is like sugar but without all the processing, and it's very very good!

  • HEY...

    ani | Wed, 09/23/2009 - 13:00

this is NOT mexican, i know, beacause i am.
this has absolutely nothing to do with mexican coffee.
if you want to know what mexican coffee really is, and how it is traditionally made, dont read this, look for a recipe called "Café de olla" that's what you're looking for
