I realize it is pure folly to exclaim this coffee is the best, or that coffee is the best, particularly in print. The best one could hope for is to give an indication that some coffee is in the top tier. And, of course, everyone has their own preferences, so even more of a word to the wise: careful how you rate your latest tasty brew.

So what do I do about Velton's Twilight Blend?

Can someone show me how to brew a bad cup of coffee?

This one's been long overdue.

I've had the good fortune to have tried three excellent coffees, both at home and at work--with my wife, with my coworkers, on my CafeSolo, my Softbrew, and on my Trifecta.  As I sampled and shared each coffee, I began to perceive a progression of sorts, a tantalizing journey into what might be possible around the next corner.

For you stalwart inquirers into the art of brewing the absolute best cup of coffee, and whether said holy grail is (shudder) even approachable utilizing the Bunn Trifecta MB, and furthermore whether patiently following this particular blog will eventually pay off in erstwhile long-promised carefully qualified prose deriving from empirical evidence of Trifecta goodness, badness, or meh-ness, take heart:

A Tale of Two Burros--Er--Brewers

Not long ago, a friend of mine--who also goes by the name of barkingburro--started making coffee at work. My namesake, who coincidentally also lives at my house, had consulted with me and I recommended a small CafeSolo or to start looking into one of those German porcelain flow-through brewers. But he decided instead on a Sowden Softbrew.

It has come to my attention that there was some anticipation as to when I would be reviewing the Bunn Trifecta MB.  And the lack of any mention of said possible uber machine in this series of posts has been frustrating.

Look, I get it.  Waiting is painful for some--

...er, most of you.  

But please, rest assured, I promise that a detailed review is forthcoming.

I sometimes wonder why I never read the equivalent among all the coffee blogs I've seen.  Sure, you see lots of stuff in your average post on some forum, to the tune of:

I thought a lot about what kind of subject I should address in my first post.  I wanted to be entertaining and informative, but also set the stage for my coffee journey.
